Roanoke College’s campus food vendors are making changes as the fall semester gets underway.
As of Aug. 1, the popular smoothie and food shop, Elderberry’s, has changed ownership and its name. The smoothie, salad and wrap restaurant on College Avenue now is Fruitions. The owners, who previously owned the eatery as part of a larger partnership, are Kathy and Larry Sultze.
The store plans to add new menu items in the future, but the current menu keeps many of the same drinks and food, though many items have new names. The owners plan to expand Fruitions’ menu and add breakfast items.
Fruitions will be open Monday through Fridays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays. Its website, www.fruitions1.com, is currently under development.
Fruitions will accept Elderberry’s gift cards.
Also, a coffee shop inside Fintel Library, CUPS on Campus, has been transformed.
CUPS will reopen this Wednesday for the fall semester with additional seating and tables, a whiteboard wall and a television for public use in the café’s space near the front of the library. The library’s main floor also has been renovated this summer, with new sections, up-to-date technology, new carpet, paint and more.
CUPS will be open from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. Monday through Thursdays and on Fridays from 9 a.m.-2p.m. It will be closed on Saturdays and Sundays.
