There’s a bracket brawl for the best outdoor adventure college in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic, and Roanoke College is in the running. But the Maroons need your vote!

The College is one of 32 schools included in Blue Ridge Outdoors Magazine’s Best Outdoor College Tournament, which starts today. The magazine created a 32-school bracket that includes match ups between colleges and universities that span the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions of the country.

The contest tallies online votes for each school. The institution with the most votes advances to the next round. There are five rounds total, including the championship which pits a small and large school against one another. The voting for each round ends at noon on Mondays.

In round one, Roanoke goes head-to-head with Tennessee’s Maryville College. Voting ends at noon on May 12.

Institutions were chosen for this contest based on several factors, including having a commitment to outdoor and environmental initiatives, a presence of outdoor clubs and related curriculum, the quality of outdoor adventures programs and the school’s opportunities for adventure, according to Blue Ridge Outdoors.
