Dr. Mariana Phillips â€˜97 is featured in the July/August issue of the magazine as part of listings and short stories on doctors in the Roanoke area. Phillips is a dermatologist at Carilion Clinic in Roanoke.
She earned degrees in biology and chemistry at Roanoke College. Phillips continued her education at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, where she completed her graduate program in medicine, an internship and a medical residency at the VCU Medical Center.
Phillips is certified by the American Board of Dermatology, and she is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. She is also certified to perform Mohs surgery, which is a procedure that removes cancerous skin cells.
