Registering for classes, meeting academic advisers, and touring the campus that will eventually become a second home. More than 500 new Roanoke College freshmen will make their way to campus this month for a one-day glimpse of college life.

Four days this month- June 10, June 14, June 17 and June 21- are Roanoke’s Spring into Maroon dates. These are early orientations for incoming freshmen.

In addition to getting acclimated with new surroundings, students will meet their peers and start preparing for their freshman year.

This pre-orientation includes a foreign language placement test, tours of the residence halls, student-adviser meetings, lunch and  distribution of student ID cards. The Roanoke bookstore will be open each day of Spring into Maroon, giving students and families a chance to stock up on Roanoke apparel.

Preparing for college can be overwhelming, but with the help of Roanoke’s Spring into Maroon days, freshmen start Roanoke life at ease and are ready for a great experience.

So, look out for new faces on campus this month and welcome them into the Roanoke family.
