Attention students – Be a voice for campus change.

It’s election season at Roanoke College, and the Student Government Association is looking for qualified candidates who are passionate about their majors to run for an academic senate seat. Academic senators represent a major’s department in SGA.

Election packets are available now via email at sga@roanoke.edu or at the Colket Center information desk. They are due March 25, and they can be emailed to sga@roanoke.edu or dropped off at the Student Affairs office. Campaigning begins on March 31.

There will be an election rally for students to meet the candidates on April 1. Be on the lookout for more details about this rally.

The election runs from 8 a.m. April 1 to 11 a.m. on April 2. Runoff elections, which result when a candidate doesn’t receive 50 percent of the vote, will be held from 1 p.m. on April 2 to noon on April 3.

On April 3, SGA also is sponsoring a lacrosse game titled the Blackout Game. The new SGA senators will be introduced at halftime of the game, and SGA will give away t-shirts designed through a contest.

For questions about the election process, contact SGA at sga@roanoke.edu.
