Pi Day, usually celebrated on March 14th was celebrated this year at Roanoke College on Monday, March 15. Festivities included a Pie Eating contest and “Pie A Professor.”

The events were sponsored by the College’s chapter of the MAA (Mathematical Association of America) and proceeds from these events went to FEMMES (Females excelling in Mathematics).

Correction: FEMMES stands for Females Excelling More in Math, Engineering, and Science. It is a new campus organization whose mission is to promote activity in these fields to girls and women, who are often underrepresented.
